You can listen to all the tales you like, but you will never know what a place is like until you experience it for yourself. We spent six months traversing Mexico and now I can say with certainty: I did not feel unsafe.
The Baja 1000 is a legendary race down the Baja California peninsula, from Ensenada in the north to La Paz in the south. We’re not good at racing so we opted for the slow lane. During the trip, we learned about Mexico and overlanding in a foreign country. We also met some legendary travel mates.

Traveling on Baja, my favorite days are the ones where we get to stay put, where we simply have time to go through the routines of daily life, where I can study Spanish, and watch the sun set into the ocean. When it’s simply another day living in my bus, with the time and the calm that can’t be taken for granted.
Social media marketing is big. So big, that some vanlifers can make a living posting paid content. Does this make their content less authentic? Despite recent criticism, it’s just another valid way of making money on the road.
