You might have noticed that we don’t make videos anymore. Why is that? What was our motivation to make videos in the first place, and what has changed since we’ve been on the road?
How could we have been so naive, so careless? The biggest breakdown in our history, due to a simple, avoidable mistake. What do we do now?
Travel is not about the miles. It is about growing as people, experiencing things you would never have been able to had you stayed at home, meeting people who are different from you. This week is our first official ‘vanniversary’ – we have been on the road for six months. In that time, we have come over 15,000 miles, and spanned the line from north to south on one very large continent.
Traveling like we do, living on the road, every day is different. Individual and unique. You never know where you’ll end up by the end of the day. That’s what make every single day an adventure.
We knew it from the beginning – this might be the toughest border crossing of our journey. Crossing back into mainland USA, they could just turn us away if they decided to. What would we do then? This was no time to make mistakes, we were anxious and weary, still there was nothing left to do but to drive up to the border and try our luck.
